Our History

Organisation d'Integration et de Promotion des Personnes Atteintes d'Albinism (OIPPA) was established as a civil society organization in July 2013 after more discussion with its members on challenges faced by people with albinism in their daily life. There is lack of social protection, a very law education level, discrimination in community, stigma which result poverty among people with albinism, illiteracy, skin cancer and many other challenges; this is further exacerbated by prevailing social stigma and cultural attitudes. OIPPA advocates on behalf of its members for equal rights of person with albinism.

To promote the integration and socio-economic participation of people with albinism by reinforcing their capacities and building their autonomy.

General Objective

OIPPA seeks to initiate various programs that address the needs and concerns of people with albinism. This includes advocacy and awareness raising, capacity building, economic empowerment and socio-cultural activities.

Specific Objectives

Advocating for the rights of people with albinism particularly on accessing effective inclusive education, accessing health services, social and economic empowerment and lastly we build organizational capacity from the staff, board members and blanch leaders.
