Founded in July 2013, The Organization for Integration and Promotion of People with Albinism was established to advocate on behalf of persons with albinism due to numerous barriers and challenges they experience including a very law education level, discrimination in the community, stigma resulting to poverty, illiteracy, skin cancer, violence which is further exacerbated by prevailing social stigma and cultural attitudes.
OIPPA seeks to initiate various programs that address the needs and concerns of people with albinism. This includes advocacy and awareness raising, capacity building, economic empowerment and socio-cultural activities within our areas of intervention.
The theme of the day is “ 10 years of synergy in the promotion of persons with albinism” and highlight the existing issues of persons with albinism including these caused by lack of knowledge about albinism.
