Dr. Nicodeme Hakizimana is an activist person with albinism who was born in the Northern Province of Rwanda, in the volcanic region of Musanze. In his first tear of university studies, he started the activities of fighting for the rights of persons with albinism in Rwanda where he founded the Organization for Integration and Promotion of People with Albinism (OIPPA). In his advocacy work, Dr. Nicodeme has brought a positive change in disability movement in Rwanda where even the government revised some laws and took specific measures to protect and prevent skin cancer among persons with albinism.

Dr. Nicodeme has experience in projects management, proposal writing, resource management and mobilization as well as a track record in advocacy strategies for people with albinism. He possesses both Master’s Degree of Education Planning, Management and Administration option from Mount Kenya University and a Doctorate in Theology from Minnesota Graduate School of Theology in the USA. His experience results to effective communication with donors, development of organizational strategies, policies and liaising the governing body of the organization. Dr. Nicodeme likes to support young disabilities organizations and fight for positive change.
